North Wales-born Kelly Lee Owens utilizes analogue synths and innovative production techniques to blend indie, pop, techno, and ambient influences. With a decade spent working in record stores and exploring alternative music in London, Owens’s self-titled debut album, released in 2017, received acclaim for its genre-defying sound. Her forthcoming album, Dreamstate, set for release in October 2024, captures her personal evolution with writing collaborations from Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar of Bicep (on the blissful sunrise trance track “Rise”) and Tom Rowlands of The Chemical Brothers on the soft song “Ballad (In the End). Dreamstate continues her exploration of euphoric melodies and mantra-like lyrics, offering a soundtrack for escapism and inspiring expansive dreaming. Owens has recently played at Glastonbury and Charli XCX’s PARTYGIRL in Ibiza.
